WASHINGTON, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Breaking precedent, Iran's president took a question Wednesday from an Israeli reporter at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
A reporter from the Israeli newspaper Maariv asked Khatami under what conditions Iran might recognize the State of Israel. Iran has frequently called for Israel's destruction.
According to the BBC, Maariv said Khatami looked "visibly uneasy" but answered nevertheless.
